Time to Start Teaching Some Dog Obedience.

Dog Obedience
Just because a dog has attended obedience classes, does not mean that he is obedience trained. Dog obedience refers to the training of a dog, and he can only be considered obedience trained if he responds to every one of your commands, every time. This even applies when there are distractions around such as other dogs, animals, or toys. Your dog must listen to you and respond to every command no matter what the circumstance.

Training your dog is not going to be done in one day. It will take time to achieve the results that you want. Some dogs are smarter than others and will learn more quickly, while others can be more challenging. Even if you have what you call a "dumb" dog, you can still teach him basic obedience. All dogs, no matter what breed can be trained. Some people may find certain breeds difficult to train, but where there is a will, there is a way.

Some people mistake lack of obedience as being a stupid or dumb dog. However, that may not be the case. If you call your dog to you and he runs the other way, one possible reason for this problem behavior is that it could be a dominance problem. You may not have established yourself as the head of the pack and he believes that position is his. And as head of the pack, he has no reason to have to listen to you. Another reason could be a mistake many dog owners have made. If a dog has done something wrong, and you call him to you to issue a correction, he will associate the command "come" with negative attention and will not come when you call to avoid getting in trouble. So to make sure that your dog will come every time you call him, make sure that you praise him for doing it every time.

Maybe your dog has other behavior problems.  There is a way to correct those problems as long as you have the right training tools, and equipment.  One of those tools would be the eBook at the other end of the following link, and you can put and end to your dog's behavior problems forever.

House training a dog is not as difficult as it may seem.  Dogs generally will not eliminate where they sleep, so crate training is a good idea. Not only will it be a place to sleep, but it will also be a place for him to go when you can not be watching him or somewhere that he can feel safe if he is afraid. Since this is also a safe place for him, you should never put him in his crate as a punishment. You want this to remain a place that he is going to feel comfortable going to.

There are different ways you can teach your dog to let you know that he needs to go outside to eliminate. Some people prefer if the dog scratches on the door, but that can mean having scratch marks on your door. Some people prefer if their dog will bark by the door to let you know. Some families may have children trying to nap or sleep at night and a barking dog can disturb that. Another way can be to attach a bell by the door that you can teach your dog to ring when he wants out. There is no right or wrong way, so it is really a personal choice as to which method will work best for both you and your dog.
